AVI files playback on iPad
No comments · Posted by admin in guide
According to Apple’s iPad tech specs, the iPad does indeed support a type of AVI video:
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
AVI, the audio-video interleave is a container introduced by Microsoft. Motion JPEG is a type of AVI compression. While AVI in general is ubiquitous for standard definition video content on the internet, there’s no indication Apple is supporting the specific XviD/Divx codec (encoding/decoding) used by those AVI files.

Anyone knows how to put VOB files ripped from a DVD on iPad with Mac? I wanna watch HD movies on my new iPad’s big screen.
VOB files are generally from ripped DVDs, including commercial DVD movies and non-commercial home DVDs. Besides VOB files, you’ll find IFO and BUP files inside the VIDEO_TS folders which contains the features of the DVD movie.
It’s a hassle to get all the way to the end only to discover that your video file won’t play on your iPad. I recommend iSkysoft DVD to iPad Converter for Mac, which provide optimized presets for iPad so you don’t need to worry about the settings for your iPad.

The iPad boasts-of a 7.5 inch multi-touch LED screen that is great for watching HD video content like movies. So the next time you get a DVD, don’t forget to enjoy it on your iPad. But, iPad doesn’t have a DVD/CD drive to play the video content directly. The only viable option left is to convert the DVD file format into one that is supported by the iPad, such as MPEG-4 Video(*.mp4), iPad H.264 Video (*.mp4), iPad H.264 720p Video (*.mp4).
DVD to iPad Converter software converts the video & audio file formats, and can also edit your videos or add video effects. ( Free Download )
